A chill place for affordable gourmet and hushed conversation, Territorio is something of an anomaly in Buenos Aires. No parilla, no pizza, and no Quilmes. Instead, you get smoked meats and fish on home-baked bread ($6-13), and craft-brewed brown, pale, and India pale ales ($7-9). You also get a $23 dinner menu that includes appetizer, entrée, beverage, dessert and coffee. This changes nightly, but you'll find options like fruit chutneys, Portobello omelettes, and apple crisp with ice cream.

The atmosphere is intimate and warm, almost like whatever refreshing food choice you make is prepared special just for you. It's a dark place on a dark San Telmo corner, decorated with apparently random framed photos and a shelf on the back wall stacked with wine all the way up to the fifteen-foot ceiling. Territorio is, in a word, hip.
