Sálvame Maria is almost too chic for its own good. The furnishings are modern and hip (careful with your glass of red wine on the square white sofas!) and the staff is smugly indifferent. That being said, everyone in the place seems to be having a great time. They have a non-smoking section, a happy hour from 6-9pm with drink specials and a menu that is nothing if not interesting.
Sandwiches include salmon, curried chicken, grilled veggies and they have a stab at Tex-Mex with burritos and nachos. The bar is a sight to see with its high-ceiling wall covered with bottles of alcoholic delicacies and the cocktail list is extensive. Clientele is mostly upscale due to its steeper prices and Recoleta location, and the free WiFi keeps the laptops humming. Weekly lunch specials are offered from noon to 4pm when prices are reasonable, and the menu is creative and can range from pastas to Thai dishes though the afternoon background easy listening music could do with a kick in the pants.Free WiFi.
