Deep down in the heart of La Boca, located in what Lonely Planet describes as the 'don't stray areas of the riverside walk and the tourists sections of El Caminito', is a true hidden gem full of La Boca history, charm and an excellent variety of homemade pastas and seafood. Choose from eel, frog, prawn, squid or octopus, or one of many of their homemade pasta & sauces. Surprisingly there are many satisfactory vegetarian offerings such as the fresh baked spinach tortilla pie.

Several hilarious anti-River (Boca Jrs. Main soccer rival) posters, blue and white checkered tablecloths and old neighborhood photos take you back in time and provide a great introduction to this great old (and yes, more dangerous than Palermo) neighborhood. And of course, the formal waiters will make both locals and tourists alike feel right at home. Busy on weekends where porteños come from all parts of Buenos Aires and beyond to dine. Cash only.
