Maria Fulo stands alone as the taste of Brazil in Palermo. Chef Eduardo Pinheiro serves up specialties such as Salgadinhos, an appetizer plate of mixed Brazilian tidbits, shrimp served in a soft tomato and cream sauce with roasted pumpkin, veal stroganoff simmered in a light tomato puree with cream and mushrooms served with rice, and daily specials. Deserts include a pumpkin and coconut roll served with vanilla ice cream, passion fruit mousse, and coconut flan.
Maria Fulo's ambiance reflects life and vitality; one can feel Samba in the air. Soft yellow walls with typical Brazilian paintings and spacious seating sets the scene for the flavors of Brazil. Oh yes, there are the Brazilian flags up just in case you forgot where the cuisine was inspired. Entrees are between $12-$30 pesos. Major credit cards are accepted.
