And now, ladies and gentleman please take your seats as Madero Tango presents… “Tangorama”! With a live orchestra, exclusive cuisine, and over twenty performers, singing and dancing on stage this is one of the hottest tango shows in town. For a little bit of luxury and a lot of class Madero Tango promises ‘an unforgettable night, with the best tango in the world’. The restaurant itself is entirely dedicated to show. Open only during evenings and Sunday afternoons, reservations are taken for dinner and the show, or the show only in this classy spot that looks out over Puerto Madero. A dark, dramatic stage dominates the centre of the space - the focal point for the clusters of beautifully laid, glass-covered tables lining the floor. While the stage provides the focus for entertainment, immaculately turned-out waiters glide about serving appropriately high-class cuisine to tables of elegant diners. The set menu includes tempting choices with at least three options for each course. Beef Carpaccio or Caesar salad might be followed by Rump Steak or Black Pasta in Champagne and an assortment of deserts. Being one of the top-end tango shows, prices are inevitably steep. Dinner and a show costs $240AR per person and includes half a bottle of wine. A show only reservation costs $160AR per person and includes a fiambre (cold meat) starter and soft drinks. If the prices are not prohibitive, for a classy dinner and show in this sparkling waterside setting, Madero Tango steals the spotlight. —Madero Tango review by Tessa Pettman
