España Cañi

Solis 807 (@ Independéncia)
Price range: $$-$$$

A fun little slice of Spain sits on the corner of Independéncia and Solis. For those who have visited Spain may smirk at how aesthetically this restaurant parades the stereotypes and fails in true authenticity, this takes nothing away from this charming spot. With its brilliant yellow walls contrasting against bold red wooden tables and chairs, one feels positively buoyant upon stepping into España Cañi. Paintings of sunny coastal towns and panoramic shots of various Spanish cities hang on the walls, reminding the customer which country is being honoured with homage.

In contrast the menu may as well have been lifted straight from the table of a restaurant in Madrid. Various meat dishes are joined by a fine selection of seafood delights such as prawns and squid and the ever-popular Paella. A meal with a drink will cost between $15AR and $30AR. There is also a great tapas special offer for two costing $60AR. It includes drinks and either twelve different tapas, or Paella for two plus five different tapas. This deal in itself is a reason to go, and all in all it is generally a very pleasant place to go for a drink and/or a meal.
