As tough as it is to find decent Mexican food here in Buenos Aires, Cancun does a good job of serving up home-style dishes in a tranquilo family atmosphere. Real tortillas accompanied by enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas and black beans that rival any in Mexico are just some of the staple choices served up by a super friendly staff daily.
Due to the sensitive nature of most Argentine's stomachs, meaning their dislike for spicy foods, this tiny as-close-as-it-gets-to-authentic Mexican restaurant in the heart of San Telmos' Defensa Avenue 'toasts to the flavorful but not spicy' tastes of Mexico. Its a decent choice for Gringos who can't live without their weekly dose of American-style Mexican food or for anyone looking for a home-cooked meal.
On the smallish, intimate side with only thirteen tables, Jacqueline, who used to run the family restaurant back in Guadalajara is usually there during the daytime on weekdays; you can't miss her infectious smile and fire engine red hair. Even though you can't get real Mexican tequila in your margarita here, she still makes them with love and they still pack a delicious punch.
