Café Morena is an all-pleasing, casual restaurant boasting 21 red wines and some dessert specialties you'll be troubled to find elsewhere in Buenos Aires. Appetizers and light meals include tradional items such as Tortilla espagnol, while the parilla offers butterfly rib-eye steak, sweetbreads, and Chicken Guadalupe- 1/2 chicken prepared with sautéed onions for two. Pastas are ham and mozzarella sorentinos, pumpkin ravioli, or choose from penne or spaghetti in one of fifteen sauces including spinach crème and creamy tomato pesto. For dessert the Italian specialty "Sabayon" is proudly offered. Treat yourself to this whipped, sweet and creamy egg-yolk concoction and you'll have little spoonfuls of Italy. Other dessert choices include peaches with cream and homemade flan. This owner-run restaurant has a homey feel, and offers their menu in both English and Spanish. Come here for a calm, unpretentious meal in Palermo. Major Credit-cards are accepted. —Café Morena review by Gena Mavuli
