Acabar's claim to fame is games, atmosphere, and creative restaurants. Acabar offers a selection of food starting with appetizers such as the waffled-potato mix with scrambled egg, diced ham, peppers and onions. Entrée items extend from spinach crepes filled with chicken and mushrooms and homemade lasagna with mozzarella, ham and a spinach mousse, to chicken curry with rice, among others.
Many desserts are available from ice-cream to pastries. A large drink list including wine, liquor and beer is offered on their key-chain like menu, each page hanging off one large and unifying ring. The dinner menu is a stack of brightly colored, laminated cards. Clearly, Acabar has turned menu-browsing into a unique experience.
Popular Basa N' Stones sets the stage for this hip café. In the back, a neon signs boasts "Juegos" (games); large shelves provide board games, Jenga, chess and checkers. Painted corrugated-tin wall textures, old-time paintings, and funky lamp jewelry help to make Acabar's ambiance popular with 20-somethings. Come here with friends, relax and play into the early morning hours.
