Maria Luján is popular for its mouth-watering seafood and large, outdoor seating area overlooking the Rio Luján in Tigre.  It is the spot for lovers dining amongst autumn’s falling leaves and special family occasions on any given Sunday.  The winter is the only time indoor seating is preferred; on the patio you’ll find people bundled up in sweaters and hats just to enjoy the breeze and decadent scenery far into the coolest months of June and July.

The food is traditional Argentine along with a variety of seafood, all turned up a notch to go along with the mildly inflated prices.  Guests can expect attentive-by-Argentina-standards wait staff, elegant salads of arugula, spinach, or the Italian ensaldad caprese with mozzarella and tomatoes, pasta fruta de mar, and lomo cooked to perfection. Many desserts are homemade including flan and a variety of pies and ice cream, all varying weekly.

Maria Luján is one of the few upscale restaurants along the water in Tigre.  While most of the restaurants are concentrated in the poplar Mercado de Frutas, Maria Lujan is on the other side of town, located near the boat dock and a few blocks from the Museo National de la Armada Argentina.  It requires a pleasant, 20 minute stroll from the Tren de la Costa, though taxi service is available.
