La Pharmacie has an idyllic corner location in one of Palermo’s greenest neighborhoods.  It’s based in a renovated old drugstore and a number of original features like wood shelves and high windows with carved ledges have been kept and restored.  There are even some ancient medicine bottles on display to add to the old day feeling.  The mix of modern and old is quite successful with the exposed brickwork and steel light fittings in the ceiling going very well with the general air of old world style.

La Pharmacie is one of those flexible Buenos Aires institutions where you can drop by just for a coffee or a beer if you feel like it, but first and foremost it’s a Pizzeria. With more than twenty different varieties plus a number of Calzone options, there is something here to please any pizza lover.  All the pies are stone baked and come out all crispy and nice.  There is also a decent selection of homemade pastas and empanadas. Prices are reasonable for the area; with large pizzas, big enough to share between three or four, costing around $20AR.  The wine list is predominantly domestic and includes two organic options as well, a Malbec and a Cabernet Sauvignon, at $17.50AR each.

The chairs and tables outside on the tree-lined sidewalk have a Parisian feel and on the weekends the area is bustling with locals and tourists attracted to the great selection of cafés and restaurants.  La Pharmacie is near the top in both categories.
