La Peca is neighborhood pizza in a warm atmosphere. This small corner café is clean of foreigners and full of local 20somethings enjoying mounds of crispy fries ($9AR), homemade bubbling pizza($12-$19AR), and a variety of thick sandwiches ($11-18AR) served on wooden pallets. This isn’t the place for an intimate evening, rather it’s perfect for crowding in friends for evening food and drink. This place shouts cozyness; the thick wooden tables are all a little close together at night, filling the place with a fun, party-like atmosphere. Posters and antiques adorn the walls and windows. Be sure to look up- from the ceiling hangs dozens of antique lamps. If you’re looking to see young Porteños in action on a Friday night, this is the place. Its way off the gringo-trail, so either take a cab or don’t leave home without a map and cash- no credit cards are accepted. —La Peca review by Gena Mavuli
