“This risotto is as good as I make!”  was the exclamation from a highly respected chef, overheard in this hip, trendy and delicious Belgrano hot spot.  The menu is written in Italian, hinting at the authenticity of this popular place.  The fried calamari ($15AR) is arguably the best in town.  Homemade pasta in fresh made sauces ($15AR), rich risotto ($19AR), and fresh meats ($20-$35AR) are the name of the game. Tip: if you order coffee here, it comes with a small platter of mini homemade pastries.

The original "Parolaccia" restaurant is in Trastavere, Italy. This restaurant however, unlike many things Argentine, is an excellent reproduction of the essence of Italian food; as far as authenticity is concerned one might as well be eating next to the Colloseum. Inside their cafe, expect a hip, trendy atmosphere where one can come for coffee and desert, or dress to the nines for a night on the town afterwards.  This multi-leveled restaurant with bar-like lighting gives diners a choice of a seating with quiet corners or booths in the center of the action.  Across the street you’ll find the restaurant, a place for meal-purists who don’t mix bars with dinner.

The two restaurants are less trendy bar-like and more focused on the dinning experience.  The ambiance is quite, with ample seating for large and small parties alike.  There are three locations; two are in Belgrano, across the street to one another, and the third is in Puerto Madero.  The food and menus are indentical, however the ambiance is what changes. Reservations are highly recommended as the secret is out: this is the place to come for authentic Italian food in Buenos Aires.
