This is the rich comfort-food of restaurants. Long crisp table clothes, clear goblets waiting for wine or water, mounds of bread, and heated outdoor seating in a quite colonial neighborhood helps create an ambience perfect for a subdued dinner or slow Sunday lunch. A bleach-white, classic colonial building on the corner calls attention to itself. From afar one can see that this place is different from the trendy cafes of Palermo Viejo. This classy parilla offers wines like Sant Felicion Malbec ($53) and Gascón Cabernet Sauvignon ($41) to go along with meals like a tableside asado to share (variety of grilled meats) ($12-25), homemade spinach cannelloni ($12), and ending with warm apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream ($8). The staff is friendly and well trained, though not any speedier than your average Buenos Aires waiter. Here, even if sitting outside unde the heat lamps on a cool Sunday afternoon one feels no rush to move on as enjoy the peace of this homey neighborhood away from the caos of the city. Major credit cards are accepted. —La Choza review by Gena Mavuli
