Experiencing Filo is just so groovy that you might not mind if Madonna, Coppola, Lou Reed or any other of this ten-year-old restaurant’s famous patrons doesn’t make an appearance during your visit. The interior is an absolute work of art; the walls practically pulse with color and the light fixtures are hypnotizing with modern chic. Downstairs you will find equally artsy bathrooms and Filo’s own contemporary art gallery – 180° Arte Contemporáneo, open M-F at 5pm with seasonal exhibitions.

The menu is gigantic as are the portions. Take your pick from enticing salads, soups, pizza, pastas, dozens of cakes and sweet desserts and try not to let all the options dizzy you. The restaurant itself is large and absolutely heaves at lunchtime so reservations are advised. The crowd is mostly composed of businessmen in suits impressing clients, flirting with the attractive wait staff, and trying to keep up with ringing cell phones but ties are loosened in the evening when Filo’s cocktail list takes over and the volume of the upbeat music increases. Filo offers full bar service and one of the most inclusive wine, beer, and cocktail menus that Buenos Aires has to offer. Filo reminds the world why Buenos Aires is a must-see city with must-eat cuisine and an undeniable Italian influence. Prices are high but portions are big enough to let everyone enjoy the lifestyles of the rich and famous over lunch.
