This is a place to rest away from the busy Caminato while you dine on bountiful plates of homemade gnocchi with tomato-cream sauce for $8AR, share a pint of Stella Artois beer for $8AR and watch as locals fill the tables, observe the real La Boca to one side, and the tourist-aimed La Boca to the other. El Rinconcito is almost hidden with three Coca Cola-sponsored green tables out front and windows showing the small indoor seating of eight tables. This place isn’t large enough to need more than one waitress, whose hustle manages to keep everyone happy and well fed. The decoration is minimalist, the importance of this place being the locals who nearly fill it up at lunchtime and to slowly drink beer and chain smoke outside as they stretch out the afternoon in typical Porteño style. Be sure to come with cash as credit cards aren not accepted and there are no ATMs around. —El Rinconcito review by Gena Mavuli
