My Big Fat Greek Wedding has come to Buenos Aires in the form an Arab palace. You´ll see the florescent blue and green pillars from blocks away and wonder if you haven´t stepped into a movie set. Al Shark offers all the arab classics to go along with the dinner show. Plates include Persian rice ($12AR), Arab empanadas ($4AR), stuffed eggplant ($6), hummus ($8AR), and shish kababs ($14AR) among others. The show includes singing and dancing, varying weekly. Call ahead for the schedule of performances. Inside, one is tempted to judge and call it tacky 80´s deco. However, the ambiance created by the stripped wallpaper, framed middle eastern pictures and Al Shark banners is quite charming. All in all, Al Shark is where one gets a not-often-seen-by-tourists flavor of Buenos Aires. —Al Shark review by Gena Mavuli
