This is the zhazha of Buenos Aires malls. Built in 1867, it's old, bold and beautiful and used to be used as an auction house for cattle, horses and antiques. In 1988, the building was reopened as a modern day mall, the first in Buenos Aires, and has been thriving ever since with 68 chic boutiques, 15 restaurants and 6 theatres.

In the ritziest neighborhood in town, in walking distance from the best hotels including Alvear Palace Hotel, CeasarsPalace, and Four Seasons, expect the ritziest stores. Lacoste, Hugo Boss, Christian Lacroix, and Max Mara are all here book, house ware, and imported rug stores.  Specialty food stores also play an important roll, including and Valenti Delicatessen which brags imported Italian specialties such as fresh prosciutto and romano cheese, among others.

The food court provides a large variety of high quality food- you won’t find any Subway style joints here.  Some restaurants offers clothed tables and wait-staff service with prices to match, but others offer some quick high quality food. A large area is dominated by Freddo ice-cream chain making it very difficult to walk by without treating yourself.

As you swirl around the center high point, be sure to note the antique iron chandelier, presiding over the activity.  The ceiling is panned with glass providing excellent light, making this mall popular year round. Shop, eat, admire- some of the best ways to spend time in Buenos Aires.
